This Privacy Policy describes how Rare Treat, Inc. ("Perhaps," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit perhapsapp.com (the "Website") or contact us about the Website. Personal information means information that identifies, relates to, or can reasonably be linked to an individual.
The Website provides information about Perhaps and its planned launch. This Policy applies to the current coming-soon Website and related inquiries. Any future application or transactional service will be accompanied by privacy information appropriate to that service before it becomes available.
1. Who we are
Rare Treat, Inc. operates the Website and is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. Where applicable law uses the term "controller," Rare Treat, Inc. is the controller. You can contact us at hello@perhapsapp.com or at the mailing address in section 12.
2. Information we collect
Website request information. When your browser requests the Website, hosting, content-delivery, and security infrastructure may process your IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, referring page if supplied by your browser, request time, response status, and diagnostic or security events. This information is generated by your device's connection to the Website.
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message, and attachments or other information you choose to include. Please provide only information relevant to your inquiry and avoid sending passwords, payment details, government identification documents, or other sensitive information.
The current Website has no account registration, checkout, or mailing-list sign-up form. You do not need to provide contact details to browse it.
3. How we use information
We use personal information as necessary to:
- Deliver the Website and maintain its availability and performance.
- Identify technical problems, protect the Website, and prevent misuse or unauthorized access.
- Respond to inquiries and maintain records of relevant correspondence.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and lawful requests, resolve disputes, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable informational website and responding to inquiries, balanced against your rights; compliance with a legal obligation when one applies; or consent where required. We may also process information to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, where relevant to your inquiry. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent by contacting us without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Sending us an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing communications.
If we introduce optional email updates, we may use the name, email address, and communication preferences you provide for that purpose to send launch announcements, news, and promotions about Perhaps. We will explain the subscription when it is offered, obtain consent where required by law, and include an unsubscribe method in marketing emails. You may also request to stop receiving marketing emails by contacting hello@perhapsapp.com. Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from responding to an inquiry you submit or sending a necessary non-marketing communication.
4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Current Website. The current static pages do not set cookies, use browser storage, or include advertising pixels or optional analytics scripts. Fonts and visual assets are served with the Website rather than loaded from third-party font or advertising services. Optional analytics and advertising features described below are not currently enabled.
Hosting and security infrastructure may process request information and use technologies necessary to deliver and protect the Website. Browser settings may allow you to control cookies or other storage used by such infrastructure.
Potential future analytics. We may introduce analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the Website, evaluate performance, and improve its content. Depending on the tools introduced, this may involve cookies, pixels, browser storage, or similar technologies that process device or browser identifiers, IP addresses, page views, clicks and other interactions, and referral or campaign information.
Potential future advertising. We may introduce advertising technologies and work with advertising partners to measure campaigns and present ads relevant to visitors' interests, including on other websites or services. This may involve collecting or disclosing the online identifiers and activity information described above. Such features are not currently operating on the Website.
Notice and choices before activation. Before enabling optional analytics or advertising, we will update this Policy and provide appropriate notices identifying the actual information involved, purposes, recipients or recipient categories, and available controls. We will obtain consent before optional technologies operate where required by law, and provide applicable methods to withdraw consent or opt out. Where required by applicable law, we will also recognize valid opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control.
For the current Website, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. If a future advertising practice constitutes a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, we will disclose that practice and provide the required choices before introducing it. This description of possible future features does not activate them or replace any notice or consent required at that time.
5. When we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers supporting website hosting, content delivery, security, or email communications, to the extent needed for those services and subject to applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Future analytics or advertising partners, if we introduce the features described in section 4, for the purposes and information disclosed before activation and subject to applicable consent and opt-out choices. These partner disclosures are not currently part of the Website's operations.
- Professional advisers where necessary for legal, accounting, insurance, or other professional advice.
- Authorities or other recipients where required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate unlawful activity, protect rights or safety, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, subject to applicable law.
- Business successors or transaction participants in connection with a proposed or completed merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the relevant business or assets, subject to appropriate protections and legally required notice.
- Recipients you direct or authorize us to share information with.
6. How long we retain information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including applicable legal, security, and dispute-resolution requirements. Relevant factors include the nature of an inquiry, whether an issue remains unresolved, the sensitivity of the information, security needs, and any legal retention obligation. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it, subject to applicable requirements and routine backup cycles.
7. Security and international processing
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the Website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our providers may process information in the countries where they operate, which may have different data-protection laws from your country. Where applicable law requires protections for an international transfer, we use the safeguards required for that transfer. You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your personal information.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; or withdraw consent. These rights may be subject to legal conditions and exceptions. Where provided by law, you may use an authorized agent, appeal a decision concerning your request, and exercise your rights without unlawful discrimination.
To make a request or appeal, email hello@perhapsapp.com. Describe your request and your interaction with us so that we can locate relevant records. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or an agent's authority. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any refusal or limitation as required.
You may also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority or other regulator responsible for your location.
9. Children
The Website is a general informational website and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information in circumstances requiring parental consent or other protection under applicable law, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.
10. Other websites and services
If you follow a link to another website or use your own email provider to contact us, that provider's handling of information is governed by its own privacy terms. This Policy describes our handling of information and does not replace those terms.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Website, our practices, or applicable requirements. The "Last updated" date identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required by applicable law. An update does not, by itself, authorize a new use of previously collected information where additional permission is required.
